MLP Outlook Should Improve in Second Half of 2015

It’s hardly a glowing endorsement of the sector, but a new report from Wells Fargo predicts that investors in master limited partnerships will benefit from more clarity about oil prices in the second half of this year. The MLP market has been more tied to oil prices this year than it has been historically, note [...]

Must see: Motorcycle crashes head on into fire truck

Jesse Lopez’s GoPro captured what could easily been the end of Lopez’s life. But it wasn’t. Now Lopez is sharing the video of his April 1 collision with a truck from the Los Angeles County Fire Department that occurred in the Angeles National Forest.

In Jesse Lopez’s raw video above the collision occurs around 2:35. Lopez’s friend picks up the camera around 11:10 and you can see firefighters working on Jesse Lopez.

Leane Suter, KABC-TV:

GoPro video shows 24-year-old Jesse Lopez racing up Glendora Ridge Road on April 1 with another biker, when he came to a blind curve and crashed into the firetruck. His GoPro camera went flying off his helmet and captured him laying on the ground as it flew in the air.

Lopez’s friend picked up the camera, nervously pacing as crew members rushed to help Lopez, who suffered two compound fractures in his left leg and a severely broken arm. He was later airlifted to a trauma center.

He wants to share the video in hopes of saving other riders from his life-changing lesson.

Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev: ‘I have done irreparable damage'; sentenced to death

bostonbombing

A federal judge has formally sentenced Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death for the 2013 attacks that killed three bystanders near the finish line of the annual race.

Tsarnaev, 21, and his older brother, Tamerlan, also killed a policeman during a manhunt. The elder Tsarnaev later died in a gun battle with police. In May, the jury chose death over the only other option, life in prison without possibility of release.

The Boston police commissioner, friends and family of the victims, including the parents of the youngest bombing victim, were in attendance, according to the Associated Press.

Patricia Campbell, mother of 29-year-old victim Krystle Campbell, was the first person to speak. “What you did to my daughter is disgusting,” she said as she addressed Tsarnaev.

Bill Richard, father of 8-year-old Martin Richard, the youngest victim, said that his family has chosen love, kindness and peace, the AP reported. “That is what makes us different than him,” he said.

Tsarnaev also spoke. We followed along on Twitter with reporters who are in the courtroom, and posted their tweets below.

Alabama removed the Confederate battle flag from a Confederate memorial on the statehouse grounds Wednesday.

Gov. Robert Bentley ordered the flag to be taken down, the Birmingham News reported.

“This is the right thing to do,” Bentley said, the Birmingham News reported. “We are facing some major issues in this state regarding the budget and other matters that we need to deal with. This had the potential to become a major distraction as we go forward. I have taxes to raise, we have work to do. And it was my decision that the flag needed to come down.”

Bentley also confirmed that his decision partly rested on the recent shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, where one week ago, Dylann Roof, 21, allegedly entered a Bible study at a historic African-American church, killing nine people.

This is the latest effort among politicians in Southern states to distance themselves from the controversial flag, which is often perceived as a symbol of racism. On Monday, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said that her state should remove the flag from the capitol grounds.

In Mississippi, House Speaker Philip Gunn issued a statement saying, “We must always remember our past, but that does not mean we must let it define us.”

Death Penalty Opponent Busted With Meat Cleaver At Tsarnaev Sentencing, Police Say

A man armed with a meat cleaver was arrested Wednesday after telling police he drove his SUV into a restricted area outside the court where the Boston Marathon bomber was being sentenced to protest the death penalty.

A Honda SUV with no license plates driven by 24-year-old Patrick Carrerio skipped a security checkpoint and jumped a curb outside of the federal courthouse at 1:12 p.m. in South Boston, according to Boston Police Department statement. Officers found "what appeared to be a meat cleaver" during a search of Carrerio's Honda, according to police.

Carrerio was charged possessing a dangerous weapon, failing to stop for a police officer and disorderly conduct.

Carrerio told officers he "had driven to the courthouse to express his opposition and dissent with the death penalty," police said. "At no time" did Carrerio "use or threaten anyone" with the cleaver, police said.

Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 21, apologized Wednesday as he was formally sentenced to death for the 2013 attack on the Boston Marathon that killed three people.

Journalists tweeted a photo of a long-haired and bearded man in a V-neck T-shirt and jeans getting handcuffed with his arms behind his back.

At least one of Carrerio's friends showed Boston Metro what were described as recent, troubling text messages from Carrerio.

The FBI is investigating whether Carrerio has links to terrorists, according to NECN.
