It did not go well. Like, at all.
LeBron, always a polite guy, then stood up and said the only nice thing he could come up with: “You tried!”
Such a nice thing to say to a man who for one second thought, “This is going to be to be the best moment of my life!” Only to then think, “This is the most embarrassing moment of my life!" Don't you think?
Had Turner somehow made the dunk, the score would have been 98-94 with just over a minute to go. Instead, the Celtics’ Jae Crowder proceeded to miss a free throw and the Cavs’ Kevin Love proceeded to hit a three.
The Cavaliers would go on to win the game 103-95, and the Celtics fan behind Love in this interview would go on to symbolically flick off the entire nation.
No NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit like the one the Celtics now find themselves in. So the team’s 2014-2015 season is effectively over.
But hey, at least they tried?
