CELEBRATING BROOKLYN DRIVER-PARTNERS

More than 5,000 Uber driver-partners call Brooklyn home, and have completed over 7 million trips on the platform in the past 4 years. In April 2015, there were more than 500,000 trips in Brooklyn.

On average, partners have grossed over $200 million dollars in fares on the platform, with the freedom and flexibility to create their own schedules and provide for their families.

Last week, we celebrated some of our long-term driver-partners and their communities with a Partner Appreciation Event in DUMBO. Among the hundreds of partners in attendance at the celebration, we were fortunate to be joined by City Council Member Robert Cornegy, who spoke about Uber as a platform for entrepreneurs.

“This is a moment where our city is actively supporting the growth of living wage jobs and trying to rewrite the tale of two cities into one where every New Yorker, whether they’ve just arrived in this country or been here for generations, can advance economically and build a secure future. We have a lot to learn from [driver-partners] and from the company that’s brought [them] all together.” – Robert Cornegy, City Council Member, District 36
